Finally, the Tower

January 31, 2009 at 1:49 pm (Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , )

Finally, this post will conclude my Tokyo Tower Journey.. It was night then, a perfect time for us photographers.. Why so? Because its better to take night shots when your way above the place.. Though it was  hard to take shots because of the glares and reflection from the mirror, still it was fun.. And honestly speaking, its easier to take night shots cause all you have to do is to wait for the camera to finish taking the photos.. hehe..

First, we went to the top of the tower and took some pictures from up above..

After walking around the top for some time, we went outside the tower to take its picture.. Though it was really really cold outside the tower, we dont have any choice but to bear with it..

And even though i said that it was easier to take night shots, this time I was wrong… Using the tripod, it was very hard to look at the view finder of the camera to focus the shot.. So what I did was to use my skills in pointing the camera even without looking at the view finder.. And it worked.. ehehe..

Finally, of course, some remembrance for myself… As a proof that Ive been to the tower.. ehehe..

So thats it.. For more pictures, just click this link..

World Record

January 28, 2009 at 10:11 am (Bloopers, Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , , , )

To complete our museum tour in the Tokyo Tower, we went inside the Guiness World of Record Museum.. Its not that big, and honestly, I was not able to take alot of pictures inside cause all of it was just facts or informations… At first, I was just walking, wanting to go outside, but then I realized, that I should read the facts that are written in there.. Well, I did, and it gave me alot of ideas of the different “most” or “best” in the world…

The museum includes those from normal people with unique talents, those with strange physical appearance, singers, actors, games, technology, animals, and many many more.. Here are some of the pictures that I was able to take:

Tallest Person

Red Carpet Special

January 27, 2009 at 9:57 am (Japan, Lahat) (, , , , , , , , )

A Red Carpet is usually those for the current rising stars or stars that are really famous.. Those people can be seen in a special events like an awards night, opening ceremony, or any other celebrations.. Lots of photographers, flashes, reporters, and the mostly noticed designer clothes that the stars are wearing..

The first museum we entered in the Tokyo Tower was the Wax Museum.. Inside, there are famous celebrities, inventors, paintors, presidents, activists, singers.. But of course, all of them are just waxes.. Im amazed at some of them, because they really look like the real thing, but some of them also are failures in the design… Here are some of the celebrities/famous people Ive seen in the museum.. If you can name them all, then ill give you a price… ehehe

As for the place, it was not that big as I expected.. It was very hot inside, but not that hot as to melt the waxes.. Its just that I was wearing lots of anti-winter clothes thats why I felt uncomfortness when we entered the museum… Some of the wax figures doesnt resemble the actual person.. There are no Japanese actors inside.. And lastly, its very hard to take pictures inside the museum because of the poor lighting.. It took us i think 15 minutes in the entrance just to adjust the settings.. My friend kuya pot, took out his tripod just to take good pictures.. in the end, it was just at the entrance.. ehehe.. When we went inside, it was a lot cooler, then the lighting was also better..

If youre a photog, then I advise you this is the place to go.. Its a good way to practice your portraiture skills in here.. ehehe

Ancient Japan…

January 24, 2009 at 11:01 am (Japan, Lahat) (, , , )

Is it just me? Or have I watched too much Samurai X lately? If your a fan of Samurai X, or any anime or movie that depicts old times, well, this post is for you.. The first museum that we entered was called the Wax Museum.. In there, you will see alot of famous people’s look-a-like wax figure.. There’s Madonna, Albert Einstein, even the Last Supper can be seen there… But more of those in my next post.. As of now, I want to share this cute figurines of old Japan..

As explained by kuya Pot, every photogrphers has their own kind of photography that they wanted.. Like structures, people or portrait, sceneries or landscapes, and micro shots.. There are others more, which I forgot, but as for me, I can be categorized under the micro shots and landscapes.. Why? I love to shoot things in wide area, and really small objects.. Though I dont have a micro lense yet, Im trying my best to take the closest possible picture of something.. And for the landscapes, its obvious.. Those wide area shots of places and structures.. But sometimes, I do take pictures of people, but its not under the category of portrait, so it doesnt count.. ehehe..

So why did I discussed this? Well, the following pictures will show one of my hobbies in photography… Those are small figurines inside a glass cover.. So first thing you have to take care of are the reflections.. Of course, it will depend on the lighting and the angle you are in…The following pictures are dark and there are some reflections seen, but i still hope youll enjoy the pictures..

Parang Samurai X lang..

So there.. More pictures in my multiply account

My next post will be about stars.. ehehe.. Thanks for reading..

What Eyes Cannot See…

January 21, 2009 at 10:52 pm (Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , , , , , )

So continuing my Tokyo Tower Experience, the next thing that I will blog is the Trick Art Museum.. As the name implies, this is a museum where illusions can be seen.. Those illusions are in the form of pictures drawn in the wall.. But sad to say, it is better to have a camera to better enjoy the museum. Why you ask? The picture is of course in 2D, or 1D, or I dont know, basta naka drawing lang sa dingding, but when you take a picture of the painting, you will see it in a different form. It will be in 3D or something real.. Just look at some photos taken by Glad and Me..

In the end, this is what I really enjoyed in the tower.. If ever you plan to visit the Tokyo Tower, dont forget to check this one out… And bring a camera.. ehehe… Another tip, go to the tower during night time.. So that there will be less people… Specially those on tours… Its very hard to take pictures if there are alot of people.. You have to fall in line just to take the pics of those you wanted… But lucky us, there were just 5 people with us in there.. ehehe.. They were never even a bother to us….

So this is it for now..  Ja ne…

Tokyo Tower

January 20, 2009 at 1:52 am (Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , )

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower

My friends and I went to Tokyo Tower last Sunday, January 18 to do alot of things. First, to visit the tower itself. Second, to do photoshooting. Third, to cross out in our list the places that we have to go to. So before we do anything else, we went to Yokohama Grace Bible Church to pray and to thank God for all the Blessing that we received. Then we tuned our cameras after the Morning Service, meaning, our first photoshoot was held there. The subject this time was not Dabbie, but my other friend Glad. After the photoshoot, we went to Kannai to eat lunch. As always, we ate at a store named 390 with Kanjis that I cannot read together with kuya Pot, kuya James, and kuya Aster. Then after that, we went to Tokyo Tower.

View from Below

It took us 3 trains, 2 lane changes, and a 30-minute walk to arrive there. I was very excited to see the tower even from outside the train station. The path was inclined upwards so it was very tiring to go there. When we arrived, of course the first thing we did was to take pictures, with different angles, different view, and different focus. Then we noticed that there are performers near the entrance of the tower. So I took the liberty of taking some of their pictures.

Street Performers

But sad to say, the monkey was not that trained yet. It didn’t followed most of the master’s command. Then it seems that he is confused with the tricks. And adding to the fact that we wanted to go inside the tower, we were not able to finish the performance of the two.

Tokyo Tower Mascot

We went to the ticket booth to check the prices for the entrance. But before we even looked at the prices, this mascot caught our attention. At first I thought that this was just a character that performs there, but I was corrected and was told that it was the Tokyo Tower Mascot. And I thought to myself, “It does not resemble the tower in any way”. But whatever it was, I was fascinated by it, and was happy that I was able to take a picture together with it.

The Golden Ticket

The Golden Ticket

Inside the tower there are museums, gift shops, and restaurants. There are a total of 4 museums namely the Wax Museum, Space Wax, Guiness World of Record, and Trick Museum. Then there is an aquarium in the first floor of the tower. Then the hangar, or the main observatory on the top of the tower. Theres also a special observatory on the very top of the tower, but we never went there. The ticket by the way only costs 2,300 Yen very cheap specially if you wanted to enter all the museums. Unfortunately, we cannot use the ticket to enter the aquarium and the special observatory.

Here are preview pictures of whats inside the Tower:

How to be a Model

January 12, 2009 at 12:38 pm (Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , , , )

Woah, hisashiburi… Its been a long time since I updated this blog.. Been very busy for the past few days.. Well, today is a day off  for all of us here in Japan.. We are celebrating a Holiday called Coming of Age Day.. This is the day when a teenager will become an adult… Literally, they will not be a teenager anymore… So guess what age they will be.. Yupz, its 20 years old…

Yesterday I went to Grace Bible Church in Yokohama along with my friends Dabbie, Glad and kuya Pot… Dabbie requested us to take her picture with her friends, and lucky her, she has 3 photographer friends.. Here are some of behind the scenes pictures of the event..

After the morning service and Dab’s Pictorial, we ate at the Deny’s Restaurant located beside the church.. But since I just ate my breakfast at Mcdonalds, I just ordered a Jambalaya Chicken Rice and gave the half of it to kuya Pot.. Here are the Pics of our foods…

After eating, we went back to the church because Dabbie wanted to take pictures together with the other Filipinos in the church.. We waited for a while then after the Group Cell, on again with the picture taking…Then after that, we went in a Park so that Glad can continue practicing her new toy.. Its a brand new Nikon D80 SLR.. Yey!!!

Unfortunately, I wore a suit that day and just like that, I became the subject for the day, well for kuya Pot’s camera only… ehehe.. And sad to say, I was not able to take my own shots of the place…

We went to a very wide, very beautiful park called Yamashita Park.. In english it means, the Feet of the Mountain, or literally, below the mountain… But there are no mountains there.. In the end, its just a name.. hehe.. The park is near a sea.. I dont know the name.. but there are alot of boats and cruisers in there, where you can pay and go on a trip for 1 or 2 hours.. Then you can also see the ferris wheel at Sakuragi-cho… There’s also different kinds of flowers planted near the fountain.. Here are samples of those flowers:

In the end, we were very very tired and decided to go home early.. Though it was a very tiring day, tiring to be a model, and a bit of incomplete because I was not able to take many shots, still, it was very very fun especially when you are with your friends.. And I learned that its very hard to become a model.. For me, I still prefer to be a photographer.. But I did had fun because they were telling me what pose I should do, what angle was better, and where to look.. And they were like swarming around me just to shoot at a good angle… ehehe.. Maybe if I got a little bit thinner, Ill try to be  a model for them.. wahahahah…

**All of my pictures are taken by kuya Pot.. thanks kuya Pot for letting me post it in my blog..

Putukan sa Bagong Taon

January 1, 2009 at 11:36 am (Bloopers, Friends, Japan, Lahat) (, , , , , , , , )

It has been a very very very busy week… So busy that I was not even able to update this blog.. And since Im free on the first day of this year, I would like to greet all of my readers (5 of you guys :) ) a very very Happy New Year to you and your family.. May this year bring you more joy and happiness compared  to last year.. May this year be fruitfull to you guys and hopefully more success will come to your life…

Also, I would like to take this chance to update this blog on what I did for the past few days.. Im gonna start by saying that I safely arrived here in Kamakura last Saturday, december 27 2008, and took some rest by watching movies with my friends.. It took us until midnight to watch different movies and then we decided to take end the day after watching.. The next day, December 28, we went back to Sea Paradise coz there’s a Flea Market in there.. That was my first time going in a flea market and I bought these nice things in there for lesser price..

Those are all brand new, or used once or twice only, and those are all original products of disney.. I bought 2 necklaces, as shown in the picture.. I bought the 2 for only 2800 yen.. I really liked the design of those 2 necklaces because they are very simple but catched my eyes immediately when I saw it.. Then I also bought a wallet from disney, which only cost 800 yen… And it was not bad for 800 yen, because the inside of the wallet is very big, and I can put so many cards and IDs inside it, and still have space for the money… So its worth the pay.. ehehe.. Then one of the picture that I took was with my friends Dab and Glad.. We saw this sea creature shaped hat, actually, there were only 3 kinds, and we grabbed the chance to wear it and take a photo with it.. ehehe…

And of course what is Japan without the bloopers and funny displays.. We saw this sign in Yokohama Sea Paradise and it made me laugh for a while…

Parang tanga lang noh

Parang tanga lang noh

O diba… Pag isa 500, pag 2 1000… ginawa pang tanga yung mga tao… wahahha… Pero yung iba naman kasi may kunting discount, like 550 pag isa then 1000 pag 2… Then we bought this dolphin cup which was 3 for 1000 only… Sakto sa aming tatlo.. Then inside the cup was sweets and small cookies.. ehehe…

After the flea market, we went straight to church that day.. I saw my crush there… weee.. We went back to Ofuna station to eat at a cheap Katsudon shop.. After eating, we went straight to home and watched japanese thriller movies entitled, One Missed Call… And again, we slept really late that night…

We woke up early the next day, December 29, and we went shopping for our supposedly Party for the New Year.. That was very tiring because we bought alot of foods, and using our bicycles, we put all of those groceries on the baskets of our bikes.. That day was not that special, but it was very fun.. And of course, our day will not be completed if we dont watch any movies… So we watched the second installment of the japanese movie One Missed Call… Since we were all scared that night, we slept together on one room… ehehe..

Then on December 30, we were invited by the tita of Glad to go to the birthday party of his son that day.. We were supposed to arrive there at 12 noon, so we decided to take a look at Akihabara… We arrived at akihabara at around 10.30am, and we searched for cheap laptops, ipods, psp, and hdd.. So we bought alot of stuffs that day… I myself, bought a d40 DSLR for my friend.. The 3 of us bought this1 tera byte hdd which costs around 7kphp which was the most important thing that I bought that day… As of now, I already used 150gb in that hdd.. ehehe.. Anyways, continuing, my friend Dab bought a laptop for her brother.. Then she and Glad bought an IPod Touch 32GB.. I also wanted to buy an Ipod Touch but I ran out of cash that day… ehehe.. Then my friend Glad bougt 2 psps for his brothers’ birthday this month.. Imagine all of those stuffs in just one day.. Napakabigat bitbitin.. ehehe…

Here was the picture of the birthday celebrant named Jun-kun… Click the thumbnails to enlarge the image:

Cute noh.. After eating we chatted with each other, kasi kami kami lang din naman ang andun.. Then ate Marissa, the mother of Jun-kun, invited us to go to a Karaoke Bar that night, which we did, and we stayed there for 2 hours singing alot of english songs and some japanese songs.. The daughter of ate Marissa, Maki-chan, came with us that night.. She sang famous Japanese songs that we know like Soba ni Iru, Kiseki, etc… Then after that, we went back to the mansion of ate Marissa and stayed there for the night…

With the Girls at the Karaoke Bar

With the Girls at the Karaoke Bar

December 31, we went back to Akihabara, because we were still in Tokyo that day, and then bought some of the things that they needed… Oh, this was the day that they bought their Ipods.. We looked for cheap Ipods there, and finally, they bought the 16k php 32 GB Ipod touch.. Thats the cheapest in Akihabara that we saw that day… Then after the tiring day, we went home at last.. We arrived at the apartment at around 6pm and of course, the first thing I did was to transfer all of my files in the hdd… Thenwhile doing that, I started to torrent all Jdramas, movies, and series that I liked… ehehe…

Our friend kuya James invited us to spend the new year with them..  So I, along with Dab and Glad, met up with Kuya James, kuya Rommel and Kuya Clint at Sakuragi-cho, Yokohama for the countdown event of the new year.. So we left our house at around 9.15pm and arrived there at 10.10pm.. We ate ate a chinese restaurant, and then we searched for a good place to watch the fireworks… here was the picture..

Here’s a video of the event.. Courtesy of Dab.. Click here to watch the movie..

Well, it turned out the the event in Yokohama was not that big.. The fireworks display lasted for 3 minutes only, and sad to say I didnt enjoyed the event… The fireworks was very far from our place, and it didnt even reached the sky… That was supposed to be my first Fireworks Display shots, but I failed… ehehe.. But the most important thing was that I was with my friends on that special day.. ehehe…

After watching, we were supposed to wait for the sunrise that night, but we didnt know were to stay for 6 hours.. We roamed around the place, because it was an amusement park, but sad to say we didtnt find anything.. So we just went into a restaurant named Moss Burger, ate there, and then went straight home after that… We arrived at 4.10 am this day, and then thats it… ehehe…

So what are my plans for this year, well, I want  to do real diet this time… I want to lose weight.. And to start it, I bought this japanese tea which to help me lose all the fats I have inside me.. Hope it works.. ehehe… Then later today, we will celebrate New Year and we will have a mini-handaan along with my batchmates… So there.. No big plans for this year yet… ehehe..

Ja, thanks for reading this blog.. Till next time..
