Well, thanks to my friend Dabbie, now, im back on eating rice… Well, eversince I came here in Nagoya, or a month after, I stopped eating rice.. So all I ate was fried foods, pastas, breads, and everything that doesnt need rice.. Then I noticed, I didnt even lose weight after 2 months of non rice.. One reason is that, I eat alot, even with no rice.. Hehe.. Then one of my friend, Reynan, said that not eating rice doesnt mean I’ll lose mass.. Then he made Americans as an example.. He said that they also dont eat rice that much, but look at their body.. And then I kinda noticed that too..

Well, what I dont want is to bloat even more.. I mean, by not eating rice, I gained weight.. And now, if I eat rice, maybe Ill become bigger this month.. waaa…

Technically speaking, its not gaining or losing weight.. As my physics teacher from 4th year highschool said, we gain and lose mass, not weight.. Because weight is connected with the gravity.. And then I thought to myself, If W = mg, then automatically W is proportional to m, where W is weight and m is mass… So if I lose mass,  then automatically I lose weight also.. Hmm..

Anyway, I went shopping and I saw the seafood section.. And then I stopped for 5 minutes, not exaggerating there, and I was thinking what food I’ll cook.. Since  I usually eat fried foods, well, burgers, nuggets, meat, theres no sea food.. And then I thought, what the heck, I need to eat sea foods.. So I bought shrimps thinking what kind of dish Ill cook later on.. Then I saw octopus tentacles.. And then I stopped.. I was also thinking what kind of dish i can cook with that.. And then I also bought it.. ehehe..

Arriving at the apartment, I prepared the rice so that itll cook faster.. While I  was chopping the onions and garlic, I still dont know what to cook with the shrimp.. And then I just said to myself, what the heck, I can experiment just like old times.. Well, as a food lover, I always experiment on cooking.. Usually, I just buy the ingredients, then just put it all together.. And fortunately, almost all of the foods I cook is edible.. hehe.. This time, well, its pwede na… ehehe

As  normal procedure in cooking, you always start with the onions and garlic..

I love onions and garlic

I love onions and garlic

Then after that, I just included the shrimps and let it cook for  a while.. So here was the picture of that:

Just include the shrimps

Just include the shrimps

Its up to you on how many shrimps you wanted.. Since Im the only one who will eat that, then thats enough for one meal.. Hehe…

About the sauce, well I thought of something like spicy but sweet.. So what I did was to put chili sauce, a little bit of tomato sauce, then sugar, and a little bit of vinegar.. So its a bit of mixture of everything.. ehehe.. Well, the good thing about experimenting is youll just rely on your past experiences on cooking.. Theres really no, 1/4 of this, 1 teaspoon of that, no nothing.. Youll just look at how many you did put then youll know if its enough or not.. Hehe.. So here was the sauce:

Sweet and spicy with everything

Sweet and spicy with everything

There.. as you will see, the onions and garlic are visible… yum yum… Let it simmer for a while and youll see bubbles popping from the sauce, and then just taste it.. Fortunately for me, the taste was just enough.. Then I waited for the rice to be done before serving it to myself.. ehehe.

So one good thing about this kind of food is that. its very easy to cook.. It just took me less than 30 minutes to finish everything including the chopping of the onions and garlic.. Then its edible, so you dont have to worry.. It doesnt cost much, just about 200 pesos for the shrimps.. And for me, its like sauce palang ulam na kind of food…. So no regrets…

Then after the rice was done, I just put the dish on top.. Sorry, Im not that much of stylish in food servings:

Rice Bowl anyone?

Rice Bowl anyone?

There you have it… easy, fun, delicious, and tasty.. I dont know what Ill call this one.. Maybe sweet and spicy shrimp??  SSS for short.. or Triple S.. wow.. ehehe…

For those who also cook their own foods like me, well, its better to try something else. You dont always have to follow the nakasanayan.. Its better to stand up and try everything.. Be brave, ikaw din naman ang kakain ng iluluto mo, so theres nothing wrong.. ehehe..  As the saying goes:

Only brave people can know what their limit is..

So there.. I advise everyone to make your own food.. Explore yourself.. Explore what you can do.. Everything can be done, youll just need courage to start it… Ayt.. Goodluck everyone
